As someone who works in one of the most disadvantaged areas in the country, you will be extremely cognoscente of the impact every penny can make on the life chances of your pupils. Now more than ever, schools will need to look to additional funding sources that can provide opportunities for you to continue to meet the needs of your community.
It may well be breakfast clubs or Y6 residentials; it could be supporting your broad and balanced curriculum; it could be supporting SEN pupils or providing gardening space to enhance life skills, or you may want support for opportunities to bring the school community together. There are school/ school charity specific funding opportunities out there for you to take advantage of, millions of pounds are made available annually to support those with the greatest need.
Here at Dóchas, we offer a wide range of support in helping school communities realise the funding available: devising a three year funding plan alongside the School Development Plan so that projects are prioritised and that you are not always drawing from the same well; one to one bid writing day working with a school leader that will equip them with all the necessary skills to write successful bids – we will have one completed by the end of the day or we can write or review a bid application on your behalf.
